Big boys!

The kids wanted to be a pain all morning. Needing lots of attention and in a sour mood. However, they woke up this afternoon much happier!

I broke my color coding rules in this one. C is in Green and G is in Blue. OOPS!

Getting ready....

No idea who this is :) I can't remember
For Uncle Kevin's and Aunt Kacey's wedding!!

Mom made us some outfits to look super cute in.

This week they have been fighting a small cold. Lots of congestion. :( Makes for sad babies when we have to suck their noses.

In other news, the gerber formula seems to leave us less gassy! Hooray, it was getting bad there for a while. I was afraid they were going to scare off all the pretty little girls.

And it seems like we are getting one 4 hour stretch a night!! Now to make sure they stay synced together otherwise we are up 2 of 3 hours.

2 Month check up!

We had our doctor appointment today.

C-
Weight: 10lbs (2nd Percentile)
Height: 21.38 inches (0 percentile)
Head Circumference: 15.16 inches (20th percentile)

G-
Weight: 9lb 9oz (0 Percentile)
Height: 20.67 inches (0 Percentile)
Head Circumference: 15.2 inches (23rd Percentile)

So I think the weights are not perfect because C had just eaten and G was about to eat. In addition C went pee immediately after the weight. And he went A LOT, all over the counters. So I think C's weight is a little heavier then reality. It makes them look like C has grown a lot more than G, but I don't think that's the case.

G results from the ultrasound are back. And everything looks great and the doctor didn't hear or feel a click in his hip today. So for now, all is good. I'm sure they will continue to monitor it, but nothing needs to be done at this time.

Dr. Best was very impress with their head control. They are also doing all the things a 2 month old should be and then some. If you stand the kiddos up, they will support their weight for a few seconds before buckling their knees and they are pushing off with their feet which is not something you always see in 2 month olds. She said they are right on track where normal 2 month old babies should be and that's great considering they were preemies. We are going to work on getting one solid 4 hour block of sleep every night. We got some tips and tricks to try. We were doing most of them already and we are seeing one four hour of sleep every few days, but not always during the night.

The other fun part of today is that we got a lot of shots :(. They got 3 shots, an oral vaccine, and blood drawn. They did great for the shots. Screams when the injection happen, but quickly settled down once they were in our arms. The blood drawn was a heel stick and that was a little more painful. Once they pricked them, they had to keep squeezing their foot to get enough blood.

They are now sleeping soundly after such a traumatic morning.

We've been MIA

Time has completely gotten away from us! So much has happen, so time for an update!

This month the boys got to hang out with their Grandpa Bill for a few days when he made his way to this coast. Then a few days later they made a road trip to Blacksburg via southwest VA area. We stopped in to introduce the boys to their great grandma, Marcus' Grandma. While there we got to catch up with numerous family members. The boys loved being held. After a few hours we continue on to Blacksburg. They did great in the car. Over that weekend we saw a good portion of our friends. The boys got to spend lots of time with Aunt Kacey and Uncle Kevin. And they got to meet Aunt Charlotte too. After a weekend of visits, on Tuesday July 16th they went and passed their car seat test. It entailed us sitting in a very small room in the dark for two hours. Overall they did well, there was a few times they just cried and cried for a while, but then got over it. So we are all done with the car beds now!!! Yipee

At the end of that week, we had some friends from marcus' work over to hangout to help celebrate our brithdays. So once again, the kids got lots of love and attention! Then that weekend, Kim and the boys took a solo trip to asheville to hang out with friends. Marcus got his first free weekend! Lucky him, he got a full night of sleep. The boys did a great job for me on the 4 hour drive. Once there they did such a fabulous job that I decided that I would stay the night and tackle taking care of them on my own. They must have known to be good cause they sleep soundly between feeds, one of the easiest nights ever. We then went home late Sunday night.

On Tuesday, June 23, G had his ultrasound for his hip. He did a great job with it, pretty much sleep through it. We have not heard back about this yet and hope to this week at their doctor's appointment.

Then this past weekend and week we went to the outer banks. Below are some pretty silly pictures of their adventures there.  The kids got so much attention, I might be in big trouble this coming week by myself! They are going to think they need to be held all the time.

Major things that they have accomplish this month-

- We are picking up our heads and turning to look side to side. We are getting stronger at this everyday.
-We are up to 100mL of milk. Mom can't keep up, so we are getting about 1/3 formula
- We have been battling some gas issues and trying to find formula that we can use and keep our bellies happy.
- In the last few days we have started to change our tones in our cries. We have a playing cry now.
- We are really staying awake for longer periods. And often times we go at least one whole feed time without a nap. So they will stay awake for 3 hours straight.
- We haven't really noticed each other yet. Our cries don't wake each other either.
-There has been no personality development that mom and dad can see consistently. Though we have gotten glimpses of G being a Mommy's boy.
- We let anyone hold us and give us attention
-We are sleeping 2-3 hour stretches at night. And a few times we even done 4 hours! Often times they do a 4 hour stretch, then 3 hour, then 2 hours, then another 2 hour before they are up to play for a while.
-G has a freckle on his knee and that's the only difference we can find so far.
- We love to grab now, especially dad's chest hairs. He doesn't like it much. :)
