The boys had a great time today. They liked their little treats. They are such dorks and the spray bottles were probably their favorite.

Anyways, its been a while since I gave an update on how things are going.
Lately our highs are really high and our lows are super low. So we are trying to find a balance. Our naps are still going well, I have switched to taking them for a walk instead of napping on the couch. They fall asleep really quickly this way. Plus its been super nice out and they have been napping earlier which I think needed to happen.
With our naps going well for some time and no teething issues, we had to have something go wrong... And its been overnight sleep. They have known for a long time how to climb out of bed but never did and we were ok with them climbing out if that made them happier. However, Calvin has been waking at night upset. And it mostly seems like he is having bad dreams, but its night after night. Some times its easy to go back to sleep other nights he is up every hour. its super common to see this relapse around the age of 2. so we are just trying to problem solve. We are also not sure if its just habit now, hungry, or something else. So we decided if we are going to be up all night we would go ahead and switch to big boy beds. So we set up the other bed tonight and put away the crib and pack n play. They were upset at first, ran to the door. But then instantly ran back to their beds and went straight to sleep. Well actually one of them very cutely pretend to snore first.
We have a speech evaluation at the end of April. As much as we are aware of the issue and how to solve it, it still a struggle. We pretty much know how its going to go, but need the push. We have to stop acknowledging their grunts and moans and only react if they attempt to use words. I was talking with a friend that's a speech pathologist and she said to plan for 2 weeks of exhaustion and frustration and to have extra hands on help. So we are thinking we will try to tackle this while we have lots of people around in May. When we tell the boys to use their words or voice they try really hard to think of a sign for the word. Which I personally have no issue with and try to show them the sign. But they really do struggle understanding that they have a voice, except when they need to say no.
They love walking the dog still. Probably one of their favorite activities. They still love playing with balls and doing art projects. Their interest in puzzles has really taken off and they are pretty good at it when they want to. they often know where the pieces go and just gets frustrated they can't turn it to get it to go in easy and wants us to put it in.
I guess those are the big things happening to them right now!
